Peace. Sometimes when I hear this word, my mind envisions the framed photo in a home decor store. You know the one I’m talking about? It has a cursive kind of font and probably hangs out on the bookshelf of your relative’s living room. The more I’ve experienced God’s relationship, I’ve learned to live in peace (not as a decor item) but with the person of peace, Jesus. When we remember who God is to us, there are no earthly circumstances that can steal our peace. He is eternal, with us until the ends of the earth.
Live in Peace With God as Your Confidence
There is so much tragedy we are exposed to in the world today. In a week’s time, we witness so much grief, pain, and loss. From this exposure, it becomes easy to lose sight of the person we are meant to trust the entirety of our life’s with. Psalm 46 brings so much stability to my heart. As I read, I remember the firm foundation and confidence we have in God. He is Lord. With His breathe the world is created. With his voice, the earth melts; and He chooses us. Read these words aloud to yourself today and remember this is our promise to peace–Jesus himself.
God is our refuge and strength,
a very present[b] help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way,
though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam,
though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah

4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy habitation of the Most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;
God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;
he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The Lord of hosts is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
(Psalm 46:1-7)
