“Obedience is less painful than regret,” says Christine Cain, Sometimes we don’t quite understand the leading of the Holy Spirit in specific situations and other times we may initially find it silly. But who are we compared to God? He is sovereign and He alone can judge if something is relevant or not. Anyhow, it is better to do what He says than to have regrets later. But what would you do if the Holy Spirit prompted you to be baptised in a frozen creek?
Would you do it? Let’s take a look at what one woman did in West Virginia and see if your answer is the same as hers? It all happened when she felt led to be baptized on one of the coldest days of this year. It was 8 degrees outside, but that didn’t stop her from following God’s leading and a few men in the church went to work to make this happen.
Many told her to just go to a nearby place to be baptized, or somewhere in the town with a big enough tub. Yet she wasn’t swayed by them. Even when the pastor asked if she wouldn’t consider getting baptised inside, her answer surprised him. “If Jesus could be baptized in the river, the creek is good enough for me.”

Watch the video below. It’s evident that everyone on the scene was fighting the cold weather yet were determined to get the baptism done no matter what. It took 45 minutes to dig through the 10-inch thick ice to form rectangular hole big enough to access the water. Only then could the baptism start!
Thank God the cold never bothered her and she had no health concerns afterwards. How about you? Would you do this? Share your thoughts with us!
