Your Purpose

Jesus has a wonderful plan for your life. That being said, finding your purpose in life doesn’t always come easy. The pressure of having to have it all figured out is something we all know too well. But, did you know that obedience to God’s plan for your life is where the ultimate fulfillment comes from? You see, God’s plan for your life is based on not only His heart for you but also how well He knows your heart. He knows you better than you know yourself! Therefore, He knows our needs better than we even do. It doesn’t always make sense, but His plans are always good. (Jeremiah 29:11)

“To live in obedience to God is to really know freedom.”

Growing up, the pressure of the world made me believe that I had to have it all figured out. That if you weren’t going to college, you were “that kid” who lacked ambition. Straight out of High School, friends were committing to four-year universities. Majoring in things that sounded too profound for my knowledge. I, on the other hand, went to community college and went into my freshman year undeclared, with no clue as to what I wanted to do with my life. They would often ask, “What are you passionate about?” and I knew the answer off the top of my head. Jesus. I was passionate about Jesus and His healing presence in my life.

God’s Presence

They would then ask, “Well, how are you going to use that?” I couldn’t help but feel misunderstood. I realized that people didn’t understand.  I realized that they didn’t know Jesus how I did and I say that in the most non-arrogant way. You see, I didn’t expect them to. It’s not everyone, everyday to undergo a cancer diagnosis at 15 years old. It’s not every day that you look death in the face and become desperate for The One who gives life. It’s not every day that you encounter the healing Presence of Jesus Christ.

Even though experiencing God’s Presence should be normalized, it’s not. Desperation is a powerful thing. What I’m trying to say is, I’m passionate about Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate fulfillment because I’ve experienced a dull life without Him. He is my source of Love, Joy, Peace, Hope. He is freedom. Is that to say that I don’t have dreams and desires like starting a fashion line one day? Of course not, and I know Jesus is aware of my dreams.

True Freedom Is Found In Jesus

Jesus knows you better than you do and knows exactly what He’s doing! So, that being said choose Jesus. He is and always will be the ultimate fulfillment. Pursue your dreams! Go get your law degree, be a Doctor, become President Of The United States. But, choose Jesus first. He’ll help you get to where you need to be because like I said, He knows your needs and desires better than you do. He wants what’s best for you because He is a good good Father. Also, remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out. As long as you have Jesus, you’ll be free because who the Son sets free is free indeed.
