Many Do Not Believe In Hell
During a search on the subject of hell on the internet, I came across a website that read, “What crime, however horrible, could cause a God of love to torture a person endlessly?” This is similar to what Marty Sampson, former worship leader with Hillsong wrote on his twitter post when he questioned and shared his feelings of abandonment from the faith.
The website in question is the Jehovah’s Witnesses site in which they claim that hell is just a common grave where no life exists. At one stage in my life, I too did not want to believe that God would allow His creation to go to a place of eternal suffering. God is love, so why would He even allow such a place to exist? Jesus preached the love of God but also warned about the consequences of not loving Him and living righteously. Matthew 25: 46 says, “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
The Truth Will Set You Free
You cannot question God and His motives without reading the Bible and asking revelation from the Holy Spirit. For answers from God – read your Bible! The Bible is the source of truth which is based on faith – faith in your salvation and belief that the Bible is the inspired word of God. Isaiah 45: 7 says, “I form the light and create darkness; I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.”

God Separates Light From Darkness
Genesis 1: 3 tells us that God commanded the light to appear. He commands us to live in His light and not move around in darkness where sin thrives and destroys lives. Genesis 1: 4 says, “God saw that the light was good, and God separated the light from the darkness.“
God calls us away from the darkness – to move into His light which is only possible through Jesus Christ. Hell is created for the devil and his angels. In 2 Peter 2: 4 we read, “For if God did not spare the angels that sinned, but cast them to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness to be kept for judgment…” God does not send people to hell. Those who choose to follow the devil by living in sin will follow him into hell. “Then He will say to those at the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the eternal fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.’” (Matthew 25: 41)
If your focus is on Jesus and you worship God in spirit and truth, then the only thing that matters after death is that you will have eternal life when you leave this earth. Our spiritual act of worship is to offer our bodies as a living sacrifice to God. 2 Peter 2: 9-10 tells us, “then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trial, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the Day of Judgment, especially those who walk after the flesh in pursuit of unclean desires, and despise authority.”
The Warning Is Clear
Well, the warning is clear just like the people in Noah’s days. They were warned that the earth would be destroyed through water. Noah and his family were the only ones spared from the flood. Noah walked blameless before God and found grace in the eyes of the Lord (see Genesis 6: 8 – 9). Death is inevitable for human flesh on this earth but the soul will depart to a spiritual place. It will either be a place of torment or reunited with the Heavenly Father. No unrighteousness will be allowed in heaven.
“Do not fear those who kill the body but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” (Matthew 11: 23)
The reason we are sent to live on this earth is to test our faith; do the will of the Father, and bring glory to Him through our lives. We must live by faith and worship God in spirit and truth.
