The Israeli Embassy in Mexico, which has under its purview the Bahama Islands, has recently initiated a humanitarian aid operation in cooperation with the IsraAID organization and the Ministry of Education of the Bahamas to help school children in the Bahamas return safely to school during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As part of the “Safe Return to Studies” aid campaign, the Israeli embassy has donated personal protective equipment that will help approximately 2,500 students return to a safe and healthy learning environment.
The equipment includes thermometers, protective masks, disposable gloves and disinfectant gel.

Israeli Ambassador Zvi Tal stated that “the closeness between Israel and the Bahamas is reflected, among other things, in Israel’s ongoing commitment to the well-being of the Bahamas as it did during the humanitarian operation immediately following Hurricane Dorian in late 2019.”
The current activity “reflects Israel’s commitment to the United Nations development goals, including the ensuring of an equal and quality education for everyone.”
He was relating to the United Nations 2015 outline of its 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which consist of 17 goals for the international community to be implemented by 2030 “to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.”
