“Now when He had left speaking, He said unto Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught’.” (Luke 5:4)
When God gives His Word to Go… it’s time to launch out into the deep. When God steers your ship by His Word, He’ll take you to places where you may have previously visited and had mediocre success but this time… something is different,
God gave the clearance to Go and to launch out into the deep. Simon was familiar with launching out and fishing in the deep but the last time he tried he caught nothing. This time Jesus gave the clearance to launch and to let down his nets in expectation to catch a harvest. Christ spoke and Simon obeyed.
When God steers your ship it takes faith to launch into the deep and even more faith to execute once you get to the appointed place in the deep.
“And Simon answering said unto Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at Thy word I will let down the net’.” (Luke 5:5)
Forget about the last time (s) that you’ve tried and toiled. You’ve tried before and it wasn’t successful. You’ve cast your nets before and caught nothing. This time God commanded Simon to launch into the deep and told him to let down his nets.
Simon remembered the last time — when he caught nothing. You may have toiled all night and came up with nothing — however your toiling was preparation for this moment. When God commands you to launch out at the right time, in His timing, in the appointed place you’ll catch much more than fish — you’ll catch the promise that you’ve been waiting on. Nevertheless, when your obedience collides with God’s Word your toiling was not in vain, it was to position you for this moment. Now launch and execute.
Seasons have purpose
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:” (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Every season has purpose and promise assigned to it. This season has purpose. No matter what you’re facing, every season has purpose even when it doesn’t feel like it. Your season either prepares you, matures you or accelerates you — you’re being developed and shaped for the right time. When God enters your ship, that promise that you’ve been preparing for happens — suddenly.
Your “suddenly” seems instantaneous to some, however, God was steering the years of training, development and preparation behind the scenes before He revealed you to the world. You are His son and in this season you must listen to His Word both rhema and logos to steer your ship. When you pray, you’re able to receive specific intel directing your course, steering your ship and allowing God to lead your day. Your day belongs to Him. Your life belongs to Him. If you allow Him to order your steps He will not lead you astray.
“And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed.” (2 Kings 13:18)
It’s time to strike. Stop limiting what God can do through you. What has God given you to smite and you stopped prematurely? The king of Israel only hit the ground three times and stopped. When God steers your ship and commands you to strike — do not stop.
Keep pouring into that business, the ministry, that gift, keep building, keep striking until God tells you to stop. He wants to do something amazing through you. Smite and continue to smite despite of what the circumstances may look like. When God tells you to strike, strike without ceasing. Continue to build as He instructs. Let him steer your ship.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (Proverbs 18:21)
Defeat is locked in the words that you speak. Choose to speak life into your home, business, family, and community. When you speak God’s Word it has the power to transform your life and situation and steer the course of your destiny.
Your words can either sabotage your life plans or direct the course of your ship into your God-given promises. Are you on a collision course with destiny or destruction? Your words direct and determine your life’s course. Choose to speak life. Allow His Word to direct your heart and lead your ship.
