Jesus Christ became flesh for us and it was because of His great love for us. His death upon the cross is to accomplish things for us. Let’s talk about the four things that Jesus accomplished on the cross for us.
Old things pass away & all things become new
“He [Jesus] was God’s divine substitute paying the price for the sins that you and I have committed so that we could receive His standing with God, His own righteousness.”
Jesus has died on the cross for us to receive new life. According to the scriptures, “The old has gone and the new has come,” which is true to our lives. Upon the death of Jesus, our old ways have ended and a new life for us has come.
By His wounds, we are healed
“He became sin with our sins that we might be made righteous with His righteousness. He took out sickness and disease that we might be healed.”
Among the things, Jesus took on the cross with him is our sickness and diseases. Jesus endured all His wounds for us to have healed.
He became a curse for us
“He became a curse for us that we may receive the blessings of Abraham and again, receive the gift of the Holy Spirit by faith.”
Our Lord and Savior died on the cross for us to have freedom from the curse and from oppression. If you are someone who seems to have difficulty getting away from a curse, receive the freedom Jesus has for you. If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed!
He became like us
“Jesus became just like us with a flesh and blood body, and He did this so that He would deliver us from him who had the power of death, that is the devil, and set us free from the fear of death.”
As followers of Jesus Christ, we can be assured that we can face death without any fear. No power of death can ever separate us from God because He has paid it all on the cross.
