The Christian movie “Jesus Revolution” has gained popularity since it was released in theaters. Not only that, the report also claims that it fuels Christians’ desire for revival to occur once more. People were praying in the theaters after watching the movie.
Jonathan Roumie, aside from being a ‘Jesus Revolution’ actor, he is also widely recognized for portraying Jesus in the popular Bible series “The Chosen.”
In this film, he portrays hippie evangelist Lonnie Frisbee, which is expanding its release this weekend by 100 theaters after debuting in 2,475 theaters across the nation.
The film “Jesus Revolution” is based on California Pastor Greg Laurie’s book of the same name. It describes the Southern California revival that swept the region in the early 1970s. Frisbee, the character played by Jonathan, was essential to the spiritual awakening brought on, in large part, by his friendship with Chuck Smith.
‘All Glory to God’
The ‘Jesus Revolution’ actor recently posted on Instagram and gave God the glory for the success of the movie.

He wrote, “My dear friends….this is just too unreal. Thank you for supporting and embracing this film!! All glory to God. Looks like our prayers are being heard. I spent opening day in a monastery in prayer, grateful for all I’ve been given. Because that’s where I needed to be… Reminding myself that serving God and each other is the first priority in life. Everything else is icing on the cake… Or in this case, bourbon vanilla, chantilly whipped cream with maraschino cherries…🤤 Thank you again. 😭♥️🙌🏽🙏🏽”
‘Jesus Revolution’
It was initially expected to bring in $5 to $7 million. However, Box Office Mojo reports that the movie has taken in $20.5 million domestically.
Greg Laurie tweeted, “Thanks to you, more theaters are showing [‘Jesus Revolution’] this weekend. Thank you that have gone to see it more than once. Hollywood is listening! Let’s make this weekend even bigger than last. People are coming to Christ in this film!”

Jon and Andrew Erwin, the film’s producers, received an A+ from CinemaScore and a 99% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making them the first directors in history to receive four perfect ratings.
