Kanye West shared his testimony about how Jesus Christ saved him at a recent youth conference!
Strength to Stand Conference
On January 19, over 12,000 students gathered at East Tennessee for the Strength to Stand Conference. Kanye West and his Sunday Service choir participated in an unforgettable service complete with rap, gospel-infused songs, and traditional hymns.
He doesn’t want the focus to be on him so he blends in with his choir by wearing the same gray shirt. The well-known artist even stayed with the choir as the service continued. His goal to glorify God was evident.
The “Jesus is King” singer spoke briefly during worship. Kanye testified of how God saved him from the devil while the choir sang “I stretch my hands to you.”
“I believe Jesus died for my sins. There was a time when the devil had me,” Kanye said. “Do you know the good news? Jesus can save a wretch like me.”
Kanye also encouraged the youth to trust the Lord when things get out of control.
“When I don’t know what to do, I can still stretch my hands,” he said.
Adam Tyson, Kanye’s pastor, then preached about the Prodigal Son before thousands of students.
“The Father is saying to his son, ‘If you’ll come back, I’m so glad you’re back. I love you,’” Pastor Adam said. “Are you hearing me this morning? If you come back to the Father, He runs after you. He loves you, he wants to embrace you, he wants to give you a holy kiss; a kiss of mercy, a kiss of love, a kiss of acceptance. It’s from the Father and it’s for you. It’s forgiveness for you.”
He then ended the message with an altar call where hundreds of students gave their life to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their Lord and Savior.
