Rapper and musician Kanye West, who recently professed his faith in Christ, released his newest album “Jesus Is King” last Friday.
About a month ago, Kanye announced that he is quitting secular music and will only make Gospel music. That announcement came after he declared his faith in Jesus Christ last year.
“You have to see and feel how happy I am and how strong my family is. We are even stronger because of this through the love and grace of God,” Kanye said last December.
Jesus Is King
The Hollywood superstar is making headlines for the transformation in his life and most recently for his newly released album. Kanye’s fans have been waiting eagerly for this album. It delayed for a couple of months due to mixing issues. On October 26, Kanye released his much-awaited album “Jesus Is King”! The entire album is about God and his new life in Christ.
The now Christian thanked his fans in a tweet early Friday.
“To my fans Thank you for being loyal & patient,” the tweet read. “We are specifically fixing mixes on “Everything We Need” “Follow God” & “Water” We not going to sleep until this album is out!”
“Every Hour,” “Selah,” “Follow God,” “Closed On Sunday,” “On God,” “Everything We Need,” “Water,” “God Is,” “Hands On,” “Use This Gospel,” and “Jesus Is Lord” are the songs on the album.
“Jesus Is King” Film
The “Jesus Is King” IMAX film was also released. The film was directed by Nick Knight and shot in the desert of Arizona. The 30-minute film has earned over $1 Million globally over the weekend and has officially hit the box office.
This is a turning point in Kanye’s career as an artist and his fans are in full support.
In his song “Closed On Sunday”, Kanye sings that everything old has now become new and the world is seeing it to be true in his life.
“Everything old shall now become new. The leaves’ll be green, bearing the fruit. Love God and our neighbor, as written in Luke. The army of God and we are the truth,” Kanye wrote in the song.
