The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and the one living on the earth today! Jesus left the earth so that He could send the Holy Spirit who is our Counselor, Comforter, Helper, and Guide.
As believers, we have been given access to the Holy Spirit. He wants to cultivate a friendship with you and partner with you in life to see the Kingdom come in and through you!
#1 – The Holy Spirit Will Guide You Into All Truth
John 16:13 – “When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
You are not alone when it comes to living a life that honors and glorifies Jesus. You have been given the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you into all truth – not just some truth, but ALL truth.
#2 – The Holy Spirit Comes When You Ask
Luke 11:9-13 – “And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. 11 What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; 12 or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Have you asked the Holy Spirit to come and fill you? He is available all day, every day to come and fill you with His presence. The Lord is a Good Father and wants to give you good gifts! Ponder that, He wants to give you GOOD gifts and one of them is the Holy Spirit! Take a moment to invite the Holy Spirit to come and fill you right now. It doesn’t matter if it’s the first time or the thousandth time. He wants to be with you!
#3 – The Holy Spirit Provides You With Power
Acts 1:6-8 – “Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
In your weakness God’s power is made perfect! His power is available empower you in life. It doesn’t matter if you need help with your marriage, career, children, health, finances, or anything else. Jesus made a way so that you could live life in partnership with the Holy Spirit!
#4 – Jesus Wants To Fill You With The Holy Spirit
Matthew 3:11 – “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.“
Did you know that you can be filled with the Holy Spirit? He is the third person of the Godhead and He lives inside of you. Think about that! The Holy Spirit, God Himself, lives inside of YOU! If you’ve never been filled with the Holy Spirit before, simply pray this prayer: “Holy Spirit, come and remain in me“.
#5 – He Is Pouring Out God’s Love To You
Romans 5:1-5 – “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.“
Do you find yourself gripped with fear in any area of your life? 1 John 4:18 promises that “perfect love cast out fear” and the good news is that the Holy Spirit is pouring out His love into your heart. Fear not! You are loved and continuously being loved by the Holy Spirit Himself!
#6 – He Wants To Give You Hope
Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Do you need hope? Well, the Holy Spirit is also a bringer of hope. He actually wants to fill you with so much hope that you are overflowing with hope. Be encouraged, He is the God of all hope!
#7 – The Holy Spirit Wants To Live Inside of YOU
1 Corinthians 6:18-20 – “Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. 19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.“
You are a temple of the Holy Spirit! God no longer dwells inside of a tent or a temple. He has chosen to live inside of you. The Holy Spirit comes to live inside of you when you accept Christ. He is in you, choose to let Him flow through you too!
#8 – He Has Marked You
Ephesians 1:13-14 – “And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.“
Don’t question your salvation. You have been marked with a seal by the Holy Spirit. When Jesus looks at you, He sees the Holy Spirit. Your salvation is safe and secure. Thank the Holy Spirit for His presence living inside of you!
#9 – He Gives Joy
1 Thessalonians 4:4-6 – “For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, 5 because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. You know how we lived among you for your sake. 6 You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you welcomed the message in the midst of severe suffering with the joy given by the Holy Spirit.“
Joy is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). That means that the Holy Spirit can help you step into joy because He gives joy. When you’re sad or lonely or feeling low, you can turn to the Holy Spirit and He will give you joy. It’s supernatural and something you only need to receive!
#10 – He Is Your Helper
2 Timothy 1:13-14 – “What you heard from me, keep as the pattern of sound teaching, with faith and love in Christ Jesus. 14 Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”
You don’t have to go through life alone. Jesus came to earth to save us from sin, but then He sent the Holy Spirit to live inside of us and to be our Helper. You can partner with the Holy Spirit in every area of your life and He will help lead you into all truth. Isn’t it amazing that you are not alone?!
