The author of the 2014 Box Office hit film “Left Behind” says he is a fan of “The Chosen” series because it is making the Bible “come to life” for people.
The Chosen
Since its release in 2017, “The Chosen” series has been making history in the film industry. It broke records and became the highest crowdfunded media project of all time. It also became the most high-profile newbie in Hollywood with the ‘Christmas With the Chosen: The Messengers.’ Further, its movie studio became the home for “outcasts from Hollywood.”

WATCH THE CHOSEN ON GOD TV
Today, “The Chosen” continues to inspire and bless people as the Bible characters, the disciples of Jesus, were greatly portrayed by the film’s actors. And the man behind this record-breaking Christian film is Dallas Jenkins, who failed as a Hollywood filmmaker. Not until God redeemed him and turned him into His own filmmaker. Thus, the creation of “The Chosen.”

Son Of “Left Behind” Author
Apparently, Dallas is the son of one of the authors of the bestselling novel series “Left Behind.” And he said he would still be a fan of “The Chosen” even if his son weren’t part of the film’s creation.

On The Chosen’s Facebook page, Dallas and his father, Jerry, did a Facebook live interview. He became a fan because of how the series helped people perceive the actual events in the Bible as they “come to life” for them.
“I have always wanted to imagine what scriptural truth looks like, for real people,” Jerry said. “… I’m having this experience myself with The Chosen whereas I read the Bible now, I’m picturing these characters. These actors who play these characters. And I can see them, and they’re no longer statues on pedestals or paintings of men with big gray beards who march everywhere. It just brings it alive to me.”
Fill In The Blanks
The “Left Behind” author also pointed out how the film doesn’t exactly tell “what the Bible said happened.” And it’s important to remain aligned with the Scripture. However, he stresses that it’s what the writers call “fill in the blanks.”
“When writers “fill in the blanks” and create a scene not in the Bible,” the author said. “They’re saying, ‘This is what it could have looked like this. This is credible and plausible. And for some reason, that just really makes it come to life for people.”
Further, Jerry didn’t hide and expressed his excitement toward the success of “The Chosen.”
“I couldn’t be more thrilled,” he said.
Season 3 of “The Chosen” has begun filming last April 25.
