We can’t escape the daily barrage of divisive statements and actions attempting and sometimes successfully dividing the Body of Christ. Sadly, many negative influences on our love walk come from TV networks as well as pulpits that have become heavily politically polarizing instead of reconciling and reasoning together.
Do we attempt to understand why a “kneel” represents unfair treatment of minorities? Or do we attempt to understand another person’s understanding of patriotism? What do we do? Are peace and love still available within the Body of Christ? We must pray and look to things eternal for the answer.
A Prayer of Repentance
Heavenly Father, please forgive our nation, leaders, both secular and spiritual for divisive actions against your Word. Have mercy on us. Save us from further destruction both internal and external.
Forgive your people of our sins of bitterness and a loveless and prideful life. Guide us in the paths of righteousness and keep us from the evil one once more and forever. Return our focus on your love, holiness, and eternal rewards.
“So, we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever”(2 Corinthians 4:18)
In your son Jesus name I pray.
