And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)
In life, we may sometimes face some sort of adversity that impacts our judgment and ability to make sound or even just decisions. Doubt, fear, and unbelief hinder your ability to move forward with clarity. However, God promises throughout His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is omnipresent – Everywhere at the same time. He is omniscient – All-Knowing; He charted our path before it began. Even time itself, runs it’s course in His hands, it’s in His control. In Genesis, when God (Elohim) spoke light into existence and commanded light to appear in darkness, the light illuminated everything in its path that was covered by darkness.
Here are a few ways to allow God to shine His Light in your life to illuminate your path:
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalms 119:105)
As you hold the Word of God close to your heart and vigilantly search throughout His Word for the answer to your situation, He will reveal Himself through His Word and speak directly to you and your situation. If you exalt His Word, above your problems and circumstances, you’ll allow His Word to light your path and guide you in the direction in which you need to go.
Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy rearward. (Isaiah 58:8)
Fasting will cause light to break through every dark area in your life.
When you fast you’re casting down your flesh and choosing to connect and hear from God in an intimate way. Fasting produces results. That problem that you’re facing may be broken through a fast. That generational cycle or habit may be broken through fasting. That turmoil you’re facing can be lifted through fasting. There are several examples throughout the Bible where Men and Women of God fasted and received results. Become one of them and allow His Word to break through your cycle.
Your private life has an impact on your public elevation and consistent revelation.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. (Ephesians 5:12)
Secret indiscretions can cause a revelatory hinderance. “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” (Matthew 5:28) Secret “small” sins have a lasting impact and Small foxes spoil the vine. “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.”(Song of Solomon 2:15) “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.”(Galatians 5:9) Watch and keep guard of what you spiritually digest.
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (Matthew 6:6)
When you pray and cry out to God, know that He hears you.
You are His creation. You are His child. When you pray to Him during your private time, commune with Him. Develop a relationship with Him. Meditate on Him and worship Him above your circumstance. With God you can do all things, you can overcome all things. He is The Ultimate Rewarder. When you choose to seek Him and not focus on your problem(s) He will reward you in His season. When you exalt your problem(s) above God, you’re choosing to worship your chaotic situation above God’s Throne. God stands alone and He alone is to be worshiped. Idolizing your circumstance will produce illegitimate fruit. God wants you to produce His Fruit. Seek Him early. It’s never too late.
You are His light in the world.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:14)
Know that your problem and or circumstances are from the enemy and God wants to shine His Light in you, through you and on you to magnify and glorify Himself to the world. He is faithful. Crucify your flesh and allow God to shine His Light to draw men back to Him. Be Light. Seek Peace. Be His Light in the circumstance and to the world.
And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. (John 12:32)
