“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39)
A confident life with Jesus
As a young girl, I could be shy at school or around new people. Meeting Jesus provided a confident knowing that I was fully accepted, loved, and covered by God. I no longer needed to fear. Boldness empowered me. Jesus removed all my shame and insecurities with his abiding presence. Suddenly, I wasn’t uncomfortable being called on in class or giving presentations. For years, I had battled the debilitating fear of having other’s attention on me. But a life lived inside the love of God changed everything.
When I was around 12 years old, my parents finally gave me permission to decorate my bedroom. For years, I begged to paint the walls and get zebra print bedding. The day had finally come. After a new coat of paint, my dad came in my room with a vinyl sticker to place on the wall. He had proudly picked the quote “If you are confident, you are beautiful” to hang above my bed. For the years to come, this quote, in it’s scroll-like font, remained as an image in my head of my dad’s love for me.

God’s everlasting love is the source of our confidence
Having the love of a secure father fills our life with confidence. It stabilizes us. As children of God, we have been grafted into God’s family, through Jesus, with no separation from His love. A confident life is the result of living inside the untouchable, all-consuming love of God. His Holy Presence is our life source.
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
