Christian band For King & Country’s singer Luke Smallbone welcomed his first daughter after a heartbreaking loss.

Luke Smallbone and his wife, Courtney, are celebrating the birth of their first daughter earlier this month. After having three sons, the Christian couple was not sure if they could ever have a baby girl, but they kept prayeing for one.
“Today is a very special day in our household…. as we just welcomed our first little girl into our family!! Courtney and I have always longed to have a girl join our family, but after 3 terrific boys we weren’t sure if that would ever take place,” Luke wrote in an Instagram post.

On January 8, God blessed the couple with their very first daughter after a heartbreaking loss of a baby a few years ago.
“Our precious rainbow babe came today January 8th at 5:44 am weighing 7.25lbs & 20 inches,” Courtney wrote in an Instagram post. “She made her presence known & was swift to come, yet such a peaceful & glorious delivery. She has been so longed & hoped for. After miscarrying & after waiting – Her presence has been life & joy.”
“Rainbow baby” is the term used for a child born after a miscarriage or a stillbirth. The couple named their rainbow baby Evie Joy.

“A few years back we lost a little baby, so this girl (I’m now holding) redeems so much in our hearts,” Luke added. “A dream of our darling girl was dreamt many years ago. And today, we thank the Lord for the gift of our daughter.. meet Evie Joy Smallbone.”
In her post, the mother of four explained the meaning of their precious daughter’s name.
She wrote: “Meaning: to breathe, breath, living, life.”
Courtney then continued to quote the Bible verse Psalms 126:6.
“Those who go out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of ???????????? , carrying sheaves with them.”

The couple is rejoicing for the wonderful blessing they have received.
“Today feels like a victorious day & Luke & I stand in awe of God in all the details, the wonder of life,” she continued.
