A man from Laurel County battling COVID-19 for four months on a ventilator experienced God’s power and miraculously survived.
4-Month Long Battle With COVID-19
Terry Smith and his wife Teresa got infected with the virus in November last year. Teresa had only flu-like symptoms, while the worst symptoms manifested in Terry. The virus hit him so hard that he had to be admitted to ICU at Baptist Health Corbin. Later on, he was then transferred to Rockcastle Regional Hospital.
“You just never think it will hit home, hit your house, you now, and unfortunately it did,” the wife, who is also a nurse practitioner, said.
Teresa had a very tough time, but she had faith that everything would be okay soon.
“It wasn’t going to be an easy road, but he was going to be okay. So we stood on that and we believed it, and that’s where your faith comes in I guess,” she said.
Survived The Ordeal
Meanwhile, Rehab director Emily Valentine said, “Emotionally he was very depressed from being away from family, so we kind of started from ground 0 and he has worked his way up to you know walking out of here and going home with family.”
And finally, today, the 57-year-old survived the ordeal and is coming home to his family. Rockcastle Regional Hospital will discharge him on Friday morning.
The wife proclaimed, “Thank you Jesus that’s the only way Terry has recovered. This is a miracle, and I know it because I work in healthcare.”
Indeed God had proven Himself faithful when He said in Exodus 15:26, “I am the LORD who heals you.”
God is still in the business of healing people! He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
“And large crowds came to Him, bringing with them those who were lame, crippled, blind, mute, and many others, and they laid them down at His feet; and He healed them.” -Matthew 15:30
