A Mississippi prayer group gathered outside a local hospital to worship and pray for the hospital staff and patients.

Mississippi prayer group

The Unified Coast Prayer Movement drove up in their cars and lined up in the front of the Hospital during their lunch break on April 7th. While the hospital staff and patients admitted to Memorial Hospital in Gulfport looked out the window, the group worshipped and prayed together.

“It was truly an amazing event to experience and I’m blessed to work with such a great group of people!” Sharon Huber, who works in administration at the hospital, said.

Worship and Prayer

Southern Gate Church co-pastor and nurse Jill Jones led the group’s prayer. They also worshipped the Lord as they sing “Raise a Hallelujah” over loudspeakers.

“It was a bit overwhelming as I looked up and they were on the top of the roof and they were in the parking garage,” Jill said. “And I’m standing under the American flag, the Mississippi flag, and the Memorial flag — all things that I love, and all my sisters in the Lord were around me, just honoring God, but also honoring the healthcare workers there, they’re heroes on the frontlines.”

Blood of Jesus

As they were praying for the hospital staff and patients, the group wore red shirts to symbolize the blood of Jesus. The blood that was shed for the healing and the salvation of the world.

“Just know that you’re loved. We thank you so much,” Jill said. “God bless you guys!”

The group did this to show their love and support for the frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. They are also spreading hope to those who are fighting for their lives.
