A woman from Missouri decided to respond to the thief who stole from her by showing him grace. As a Christian, she wanted to be an example of Christ, so she encouraged the thief to come by and receive a “present” from her.

Jennifer Collier left a Bible on her front porch, in the same area where the thief stole her two leaf blowers. She hoped that the robber would return the stolen goods and take the Holy Book instead.

A CCTV footage showed a man who drove by and suddenly stopped in front of the Collier’s residence. He quickly got off his car and ran to take the leaf blowers lying on Jennifer’s porch. As fast as he appeared, he left the area immediately too.

Jennifer admitted that she was frustrated with the incident. Who wouldn’t have when something gets stolen from you? But, the family chose to show compassion and grace, just like how Jesus did.

Love your neighbors

She said in an interview, “The greatest commandment in the Bible is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, your mind, your soul. Second commandment directly following that is to love your neighbor as you love yourself.”

With that said, Jennifer followed Jesus’ command. She posted on her Facebook account in an attempt to reach out to the “misguided” man.

“I’m praying for you,” she said. “Whatever it is you’re looking in life to make you happy, I can guarantee there is no living person or thing that will fill that void. If you’d like to know more, there will be a Bible on my front porch for you if you choose to return what you stole.”

She continued, “None of us are perfect, not even me. We all mess up and do things we shouldn’t. It’s not too late to make it right.”

Instead of reacting to her situation, Jennifer chose to respond lovingly. She took the opportunity to share Jesus and the satisfaction that only He can bring.
