A mom getting an abortion decided to keep her baby at the last minute after she heard her daughter’s heartbeat inside her womb for the first time.

Going Through Abortion

In a post shared by Olivia Bridwell, a moment of abortion turns into a moment of blessing after a mom decides to keep her baby. Apparently, the baby was her, and it was her mom, Andrea, who chose to keep her.

“My mom went in to get an abortion when she was pregnant with me,” Olivia wrote. Then she recalled how Andrea, her mom, went to an abortion clinic and was ready to end the life inside her womb. The mom laid on the table when the nurse suddenly asked if Olivia would like to hear the baby’s heartbeat before doing the procedure. And so, she did and heard her daughter’s heartbeat for the first time. That’s when she changed her mind and thought she would just “go through with adoption.”

“If that nurse hadn’t asked my mom to hear my heartbeat, I wouldn’t be here today,” Olivia added.

Embracing Motherhood

But when her mom gave birth to her, saw her, and held her in her arms, Andrea’s life changed. At once, all the fears and insecurities she felt before her baby was born disappeared. Then she embraced motherhood and never once regretted her decision.

Today, Olivia is forever grateful to her mom for choosing life amid fear and uncertainty. Now, she is also pregnant with a baby boy and is choosing life as well.

“It’s so evident that God has knit this child -although unborn- from the very beginning,” she remarked. Then she encouraged every woman doubting if they would want to keep their baby.

“If you are debating whether or not to get an abortion,” the soon-to-be mom said, “know that in your darkest hour God is with you and He will sustain you. He makes beautiful and wonderful things out of ashes. And even when we can’t see a way out He is paving a way for newness and redemption. I wouldn’t have a life if my mama didn’t lay down her own. That’s what love is, laying down your life for another.”
