An agnostic confronted his Christian friend with a thought that made him stop and think. He said, “If God is real, Christians should be the most fearless people on the planet.”
Most fearless people on earth
Salim Muslimani had an Agnostic friend who confronted him about his Christians’ faith. It caused him to warn Christians and, at the same time, encourage them to go deeper in union and trust with God.
“You see,” Salim shared. “What my friend is saying is, if you believe in what this book [Bible] says, you should be one of the most fearless people on earth.”
“Why? Because our King rose from death, period.”
He continued, “Jesus conquered sin and death. And because of that, we’re saved from eternal death. We will spend eternity with Him. We don’t have to fear anything.”
Furthermore, Salim pointed to Jesus’ commands to “fear not.”
“It was Jesus who said, ‘Fear not, little flock.’ Why? Because Jesus will provide for and protect His sheep.”
According to Salim, the Christian’s fear and anxiety are indicators of the condition of their souls.
He said, “Our anxiety and fear is a check engine light for our soul. It is a major sign that our faith is weak. It’s a major sign that we’re caught up in all the noise around us.”
Salim reminded believers that we are called to focus on Christ, not the world.
“Friends, please understand that your mind is the gateway to your soul. And what you fill your mind with will either increase your fear or increase your peace.”
He continued, “Your peace or lack thereof will be no more than the sum of what you give your attention to.”
