Italy is in lockdown because of the ongoing pandemic. But that didn’t stop a neighborhood in Italy from praising God and singing ‘How Great Is Our God’ from their windows.
Italy’s version of ‘How Great Is Our God’
A family in Italy started to sing Chris Tomlin’s ‘How Great is Our God’ in their own language. A neighborhood boy accompanied their song with his guitar.
“Dio grande Dio,” they sang. “Canta che! Dio grande Dio!”

Many of their neighbors heard them and sang along from their own windows.

“The event occurred the first week in which Coronavirus left everyone in quarantine in their homes because to prevent contagion, authorities restricted access to the streets for everyone,” Bibliatodo News reports.
The 3-minute video of a neighborhood worshipping God is amazing!
A viewer commented, “This is the way forward, Italians, as did Apostle Paul, who sang and [rejoiced] himself in jail. Likewise, keep on singing, giving honor and glory and soon God will heal the land.”
“The Church is light and salt. This is the Church. Do not tire of praising Him. He is worthy. Present suffering does not compare to true glory,” one viewer exhorted.
Updates in Italy’s fight against the virus
As of now, Italy has now 183,957 confirmed cases of the coronavirus. But thankfully, the country is seeing a decline in their daily death toll and active cases for the first time since the outbreak began. Angelo Borrelli, head of Italy’s civil protection agency, sees this drop as a “positive development.”
“For the first time, we have seen a new positive development: the number of currently positive has declined,” Borrelli told the reporters.
The Italian government is planning to ease on their lockdown.
ABC News reports that, “Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte promised a serious, scientific plan that would include a rethinking of modes of transport to enable workers to travel in safety. New business rules and measures will also be implemented to check whether the loosening was leading to arise in infections.”
