New Zealand restaurant customers helped a chef working alone during a busy dinner service after all his staff did not show up.

Thai Food Huntly is a popular restaurant in Huntly, New Zealand that offers authentic Thai cuisines. It is expected that the restaurant will be filled with customers during the dinner service. However, on Friday, October 9, the restaurant Chef served the hungry customers alone after his staff didn’t show up due to a family emergency.
The tables are filled with grumpy customers waiting to order and be served. People were also lining up in the cash-registry to pay. But there are no waiters and cashiers around to serve the customers. The only one left running the restaurant that night was the chef.

On a Facebook post, the restaurant management apologized for the inconvenience and informed everyone about their situation. While waiting to pay for her dinner, customer Ange Floyed picked-up a piece of paper and started waiting for the tables for the chef. An employee of the Real Estate Shop beside the restaurant also offered her help. With the chef’s permission, she worked as a cashier that night and also as a waitress.
“Felt bad for him. Lots of people helped. It wasn’t just me,” Ange commented on a Facebook post by Emily Puhi.
Others also jumped in to help, some even washed the dishes and stayed late to help in closing the restaurant. The restaurant that was filled with grumpy customers turned to a restaurant filled with joy and smiles. Emily Puhi snapped a photo during that night and shared the wonderful event on Facebook.
