Former Nickelodeon Star from “Kenan and Kel” is now a licensed pastor.

Kenan and Kel

Kel Johari Rice Mitchell is an actor, stand-up comedian, singer and musician that rose to fame after staring on “Kenan and Kel.” The show aired on the Nickelodeon network from August 1996 to July 2000. It is about the adventures gone wrong of Kenan Rockmore, portrayed by Kenan Thompson, and his bestfriend Kel Kimble, starred by Kel Mitchell.

Licensed pastor

On December 9, the teen star share the news on Instagram, announcing that he is now a licensed pastor.

“Officially became a Licensed Pastor last weekend. Blessed and thankful for my Spirit Food Family and thank you, Pastor Zeigler, for seeing the calling of God on my life and trusting me with your Youth Department,” Kel wrote on his Instagram post.

Kel is a youth pastor at Spirit Food Christian Center in Winnetka, Los Angeles and is now officially a licensed pastor. The Church that he has been serving is also the Church that ordained him to be a pastor.

Kel Mitchell is also currently the executive producer for the 2019 remake of the 90s show “All That”.

The youth pastor also quoted Romans 8:28-29 in his announcement, “And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son. So that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.”

From teen star to full-pledge pastor, God is indeed at work on Kel’s life!
