Hundreds of churches worldwide took part in this year’s Tim Tebow Foundation ‘Night to Shine’ prom for people with special needs.

Night to Shine

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Tim Tebow Foundation’s ‘Night to Shine’ looked different this year. Hundreds of churches from all around the world took part in the annual prom event for people with special needs.

On February 14, hundreds of churches in the US and in over 30 countries hosted the Night to Shine and Shine-Through events. The event took place in several different countries including Israel, Ukraine, Zimbabwe, and Kazakhstan.

Pandemic

In a tweet two days prior to the event, the Christian athlete shared that six months ago, they were unsure how to approach the event amid the pandemic. However, they were certain that canceling the event wouldn’t be an option.

“COVID can cancel a lot of things but it can’t cancel celebrating people’s value and worth,” Tim tweeted.

God’s Love

The annual event started in 2014 and it existed to celebrate and honor those with disabilities. The annual event provides an unforgettable prom night experience to these people while highlighting God’s love to them.

This year, while the event is being hosted in different churches, a Virtual Night to Shine was produced by Tim Tebow Foundation. Tim and his wife Demi Leigh hosted the virtual event. It allowed viewers to virtually walk down the red carpet while crowds of people surrounded and cheered for them.

The video highlighted past Night to Shine events and featured messages from Christian celebrities. Among those who gave their inspiring messages are Carrie Underwood, Chip and Joanna Gaines, Tori Kelly, Saddie Robertson Huff, and Bethany Hamilton.

Most especially, the event highlighted the amazing love of God to everyone. At the end of the event, Tim shared the love of Jesus through John 3:16 to every king and queen of the prom.

“You are the king. You are the queen. You are a masterpiece. We love you so much,” Tebow said in the video.
