You’re No Longer a Slave to Your Feelings
“Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are His child, God has made you His heir.” (Galatians 4:7)
As believers, we are given a sixth sense which is faith.
Something that I love so much about following Christ is that I am no longer a slave to how I feel. As humans, we innately have five senses: taste, smell, touch, sight, and hearing. But as believers, we are given a sixth sense which is faith.
Faith is what we use to engage with Jesus and to perceive the Kingdom of God that is active all around us. Our feelings are an inaccurate measure of the world. We all know that our emotions can be completely irrational, and the world tells us to “follow our gut feelings,” but without faith, our feelings are lacking the depth we need to see clearly. Thankfully, no matter how our current situation makes us feel – bad or good – we have the ability to engage with God in a much deeper way than just through our emotions. We stop being limited by our feelings when we choose to walk in faith.
Are you tapping into your sixth sense or are you still a slave to your emotions?
