Non-Christians Moved To Tears By ‘Jesus Revolution’ Early Screenings

The ‘Jesus Revolution’ moved even non-Christians to tears as they watched the film’s early screenings, according to a co-director.

GOD TV previously reported that the ‘Jesus Revolution’ film would hit the big screens this year. And now, with its early screenings, the faith-based movie touched even a non-Christian audience.

In an interview with Christian Headlines, co-director Brent McCorkle revealed the response of some people who have watched its early screenings. He shared that the crew behind the making of the film weren’t all Christians.

“There’s people from all walks of life in our crew…[and] all different belief systems,” he said. But despite these differences, the director revealed how everyone wept and cried as they watched the footage. The audience included both believers and unbelievers.

“It felt guided,” Brent added. “It felt bigger than a bunch of humans running around with cameras, it feels important. Even people at Lionsgate were moved to tears. They’re not all Christians, but they’re moved by the story.”

1960s And 1970s Revival

Pastor Greg Laurie’s book inspired the storyline of the Christian film. It’s a true story of the great spiritual awakening that broke out in America way back 1960s and 1970s. It became a historical moment in the country as many teenage hippies and young people surrendered their lives to Christ. But at the time, Greg never thought he would become part of history.

“Thousands of young people were coming to Christ and being baptized,” the pastor recalled in an interview with CBN. “We called it the Jesus movement.”

Today, as the film recounts the story decades ago, the creators hope it will awaken believers again.

In an Instagram post, Greg Laurie urged his followers to “pray for the cast and crew.”

“That they will either come closer to Jesus or some might even meet him for the first time!” he also added. “Our prayer is that this film will prompt young people (And all people for that matter) to say, ‘Do it again, Lord!’. It’s been said, ‘The fame of revival spreads the FLAME of revival.'”

According to Movieguide, the film will screen on theaters  February 24.
