God gave us the gift of life through His Son, Jesus Christ. You were bought with a price and you are not your own, you are His.
Rightful Owner – True Story
A woman, whose son decided to move out of the family cottage, left behind a few items of furniture, including an office desk. His parents decided to rent out space and soon a young lady moved in. The woman offered to leave the furniture for the lady to use until her son decided to come for it. This pleased the young lady who enjoyed the use of the furniture for a few months.
Unexpectedly one morning, the son turned up and asked to have his desk back. When the woman knocked on the cottage door mid-morning, the young lady was still in her nightclothes. The woman told her that her son was here to collect his desk. The young lady’s body language showed discontent. Sensing the change in her attitude, the woman apologized for what seemed to be an inconvenience to the young lady.

The rightful owner of the desk allowed her to use his possession and now that he wanted it back, he had the right to claim it at any time. The Bible tells us that we must be ready and waiting for Jesus to return. He will come at an hour, we do not expect to claim what rightfully belongs to Him (see Mark 13:32-36).
Always Be Thankful
Many people take their lives for granted. They live as though their lives are their own and the things on earth are for their pleasure and use as they please. However, the truth is everything belongs to God. And we will have to give account for our lives and how we live. Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth belongs to the Lord, and its fullness, the world, and those who dwell in it.”
Being thankful and glorifying God in all circumstances is the will of God for your life (see 1 Thessalonians 5: 18). People in America celebrate Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November as a national holiday. We should, in all circumstances, be in an attitude of gratitude and practice this every day. God can be glorified when we “count our blessings”.
You Are His: Not Your Own
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, “What? Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God, and that you are not your own? You were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
We are joined to the Lord and become one with Him in spirit. You are His and I am His. We are accountable to Him in everything we do. Jesus bought you with a price and you are not your own. A house owner has the keys to his property and the right to live in it. In like manner, Jesus has the key to your heart. While you are living in God’s property which is your body, make sure you glorify God in it by allowing Jesus full access.
