Anxiety is the act of experiencing fears and worries that steal your joy away from you. It prevents your energy, and in some cases, it will try to take your complete trust or confidence in God. Anxiety brings nothing but stress and a feeling of uneasiness. But God can turn that anxiety into a kind of peace that surpasses all human understanding.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6)
Sometimes your primary fear isn’t from WITHOUT, but from WITHIN – you are anxious about yourself and your life. Fear, worrying about the future, problems, change, and lack of control are just some of the reasons why people get anxious. Sometimes you may feel that change can be stressful and a problematic event. Toxic workplaces, a troubled relationship, or merely life events not turning out as expected, and issues that you feel out of your control will paralyze you if the Word of God does not guide your life.
Peace From Above
To have peace you must always position your focus on God.
Remind yourself, today, that if you entrust your life to God, He who knows which path is right to take and on how to direct your every step, the more peaceful you will be. The more you live with God, and the more of your heart you give to Him, the less power anxiety will have over you. God is not playing games by promising and not delivering. You can plan and work, but you must leave the results to God. Anxiety doesn’t work, it never has and it never will.
A Thankful Heart
An author once said; “Don’t allow present pressure to postpone your future’s destiny.” You can’t control life so stop stressing over it. The King will always provide, and His providence can bring you to unimaginable heights. Even if you don’t receive everything you want, you will still get everything you truly need. He made you and nothing about you and your circumstances surprise Him. In everything, present your requests with prayer and petition, together with a thankful heart, and His peace that surpasses all understanding will indeed guard your heart in Christ Jesus..
