It’s easy to get distracted by many things because there are a lot of voices that we could hear in this world. May it be through media, the people who surround you, your job, and even your ministry. That’s when I realized how important it is to protect your peace in the Lord at all costs.
What do I mean by protecting your peace in the Lord?
In Romans 12:2, Paul talked about how to guard ourselves against the patterns of this world.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Protecting your peace in the Lord means being aware of His presence more than anything, being mindful of His heartbeat, and seeing things in His perspective regardless of all the noise this world gives. And this can only be done by renewing our minds every day through the Word of God.
Filling our minds every day with His Word will keep us on track with God’s will and purpose for our lives. It’s the Word that refreshes our soul and detoxifies our hearts from things that are not of God. And the moment we don’t fill our minds with His Word, other things will fill it. It could be the things we are busy with, what we watch or spend the most time doing.
So, beloved, protect your peace in the Lord at all cost. Don’t let the enemy take your eyes off of Jesus. Don’t let him lure you away from the truth into his own deceptive schemes. Whenever that happens, cling tighter to Jesus despite how you feel. Don’t let your feelings get in the way of it. Trust in God always come what may. And you can never go wrong.
