Rick Pino Talks Raising Your Kids to be Worshippers: Lots of His Presence; Less of Church!

Don't keep your children in a church with no Presence of God!

Rick Pino: Lots of His Presence; Less of Church

Rick Pino, the founder of Heart of David Worship Center in Houston, Texas. Rick speaks about how to raise children in the presence of God. He shares about how his ultimate goal specifically is to help you, teach the youth to become true worshipers.

As a child, he grew up in a church that had a little bit of the presence. Rick goes on to tell about how his daughter is experiencing lots of presence, with a little bit of church. There is nothing wrong with the church by the way. Going through the motions contrasted to the tangible presence of God is vastly different. His six-year-old daughter is growing up in non-stop worship sessions around the globe. She doesn’t know anything else. Many might think this is because of all the events Rick participates in around the world; it’s not. He highlights how this starts in the home first.

The Pino family prays and worships together regularly, if not every day. Being a musician, Rick’s purchased instruments for his daughter. He re-emphasizes worship needs to come together in the home first, as a family. The home will set the spiritual climate. Whatever example you establish in the home, is going to shape your child’s global worldview. For this reason, he passionately encourages implementing worship as a family. As your child develops and grows, this will eventually overflow into their public life.

Rick passionately exhorts us to engage with our youth in worship. Remember, we don’t need to force our children, but invite them into a safe environment to express themselves. Parents, especially fathers, need to rise up and set the example for your family to emulate.

He also recommends to the dads to gather their children together and pray with them. Pray with your kids beyond mealtime. Parents, remember to pray with your kids on a regular basis. Make it a routine, as familiar as breathing.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old, he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)

Point of Reflection

Parents, how are you developing an atmosphere of worship in the home? Is this something you’ve even considered? How might your family benefit from more prayer and worship?

May the Lord lead and guide you into greater revelation regarding worship, prayer and cultivating an atmosphere of the presence of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name. Amen.
