Love, the only word that makes everyone excited when they hear it. It makes someone smile or makes someone’s heart ache. But what is love, really?
The God-Shaped Vacuum
It was Blaise Pascal who said, “There is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man which cannot be filled by any created thing, but only by God, the Creator, made known through Jesus.”
Indeed, there is a God-shaped vacuum in the heart of every man. Perhaps that is the reason why every individual always seems on the search for love. Sometimes they look for it from other people and want to get rich, thinking they could easily buy it.

Searching For Love
Maybe you are one of those people who is searching for love. It could be from people, jumping from one relationship to another, or even in friendships. And when they fail you, you get hurt and get bitter. You know why? Because you’re looking for love in all the wrong places. People are just people. They are not your world nor your life. Because a life that is not built around Jesus will always be difficult, if you keep on depending on people for it, it will just keep on disappointing you. For like you, they are not perfect and also need God’s grace.
The love you’ve been searching for is in God alone. He is the only One Who can satisfy you and Who will never disappoint you. It is so great, deep, and unconditional that He sent His one and only Son, Jesus, to save the world.
God’s love is perfectly defined in the Bible, and it’s not like anything in this world. Nothing can compare to it!
“Love is patient, [it] is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs, it does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth, it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” -1 Corinthians 13:4-8
