We have visited the coast of California and the coast of Florida, now to somewhere in between. The “big in-between” is the state of Texas. Due to its size, under the big blue skies of Texas, there are Christian colleges in Texas for you. We are reviewing eight high ranking college locations.  These facilities educate students at a high level by providing a sound Biblical foundation to make their college years memorable.

Nondenominational Christian Colleges in Texas

Texas Christian University – Ranked number two on the 2020 Best Christian Colleges in Texas, the nondenominational institution is in Ft. Worth. While they have a large student body of about 9000 students, they have a student to faculty ratio of 13:1. The primary majors studied are Nursing, Communications, and Finance. The cost to attend is about 53K per year.

Methodist Christian Colleges in Texas

Southern Methodist University – SMU is ranked number one for the Best Christian colleges in Texas. Located in Dallas, they are under the Methodist denomination. They have a student population of around 6200 and a student to faculty ratio of 11:1. Academics, Finance, and Accounting are the primary major focuses. Attendance at SMU will cost around 36K per year.

Southwestern University – The Southwestern University campus sits in the heart of Georgetown, about halfway between Austin and Dallas. It is also affiliated with the Methodist denomination. However, it is a much smaller school than SMU with 1500 students and a student to teacher ratio of 11:1. Attendees are primarily majoring in Business and Accounting. The cost of admission is in the ballpark of 52K per year.

Baptist Christian Colleges in Texas

Baylor University – Baylor University is ranked number three for Christian colleges in Texas. The campus is in Waco and totes a large student body of 16,000. It has a 16:1 student to teacher ratio. Biology and Nursing are the top majors. The cost to attend BU is about 52K per year.

University of Mary Harden Baylor – Another Baptist affiliate, but much smaller than its former big brother, UMHB. The campus has around 3200 students and a 16:1 student to teacher ratio. It is located in nearby Belton, and its primary majors to focus are Nursing and Education. The cost to attend Mary Hardin is around 25K per year.

Other Denominations

Abilene Christian University – Abilene Christian University is affiliated with the Church of Christ denomination. It is a medium-sized school with 5,200 students and a 15:1 student to teacher ratio. The university has many majors to focus; Business, Accounting, Psychology, and Nursing. To attend ACU, students pay around 43K per year.

Austin College – A Presbyterian affiliated college, Austin College is in Sherman. It is a smaller school with around 1200 students. This number six ranked college has a 14:1 student to faculty ratio. The primary major focuses are Business, Psychology, and Biology. The cost to attend AC is 48K per year.

Southwestern Assemblies of God University – Finally, the last university on our list ranks number nine on the list of best Christian colleges in Texas. It affiliates with the Assembly of God denomination. It hosts about 1300 students with a 15:1 student to teacher ratio. Biblical Studies and Pastoral Counseling are the primary majors. The cost of attending SAGU is around 25K per year.
