Nikol tells her personal story of nearly losing her mind after taking LSD. It’s a miracle how her sanity was restored after continuous prayer!

Nikol’s mother was a Christian so she grew up hearing about Jesus. Despite this, her parents didn’t get along, and she would often hear them fight.
Her parents eventually got divorced and that left a huge impact on Nikol’s life and her view of who God was.
“I always hear in the congregation, “God is so good; God loves you; God is love.” But I never felt this love. I never saw it in my home. And it made me very confused about who is really God and what He really wants from my life,” she said.
Because of this, Nikol rebelled as a teenager.
“So at the age of 17, I drifted out of the faith, and I started to look for something that would fit my soul. I started to look for meaning and also to ask questions: “Who created me? Why am I here? What is the meaning of this life?” she said.

She started smoking pot with her friends at school, went to parties, and started using drugs like MDMA and LSD.
One day, when she went to a festival in Sinai, she took LSD. It was her first time, and she felt like she went on a really bad trip in her mind.

“And I started to lose my mind very slowly. I started to not distinguish between the reality and between the fantasy of my mind. So I had a lot of panic attacks. I think the main thing that I felt was that this is me against all this world,” she said.
Her parents tried to help her because they were very concerned.

“For ten days, they tried to help me. They took me to different doctors, they tried to give me medicines, but I just rejected everything because I thought that everyone was against me. And they started to be afraid for my life. So they took me to a psychiatrist, in a psych ward,” Nikol recalled.
But during that time, her mother continually prayed for her. And prayer was the only thing that was helping.
“There was no magical point. I was there for a month and a half in the hospital, and it was a very slow healing process. My mother was coming to me twice a day, praying for me. Each time when my mother asked me to pray with her, my consciousness came back to me. Because I wasn’t talking,” she said.
The Turning Point
“I didn’t have any connection with this reality. I was inside my head, I was living inside my head. But when she asked me to pray with her, each time I would pray with her, I would start to cry. And I asked her if I wanted to hear worship songs. God just breaks through my heart,” Nikol said.
Now, God is using her to spread the Good News to the people who were once like her.
