Since 2003 GOD TV has been making a major impact in the island nation of Sri Lanka, with a growing viewership not only of Christians but also of Buddhists and Muslims!
In fact. it was a Buddhist technician who first discovered the GOD TV Asia feed while flicking through the free-to-air channels on the PAS 10 satellite, a divine appointment in 2002 that led to GOD TV’s becoming firmly established in Sri Lanka.
According to GOD TV’s Regional Director for Sri Lanka, David Nicolle, he prayed for many years for a Christian television to come to the region, and then one day his chief engineer burst into his office and told him about a new channel that had a special kind of energy transmitting out of it.
“There is so much negative energy that comes out of a TV set, but on GOD TV, I’ve found a lot of positive energy,” he said. “I am a Buddhist, but I believe GOD TV can do something good for this country and for the people that watch it. I know so many Buddhists and Muslims who are watching and there is something positive that is transmitted through it!”
GOD TV Regional Director for Sri Lanka, Dr David Nicolle. David recently graduated with a Doctor of Divinity degree.
“This positive energy is the anointing,” David explains. “The Lord will use anybody to bring in His Gospel to the ends of the earth, including all the islands of the sea and we’re so excited when unbelievers get touched by the Holy Spirit.”
Having found out about GOD TV in 2002, David Nicolle has been actively promoting the ministry ever since, leading GOD TV’s Regional Office in Colombo, overseeing our distribution and humanitarian outreach. For 15 years he has encouraging fellow believers to have satellite decoders installed and even managed to get GOD TV onto local cable networks on the island.
“I see this as the new wave of the Holy Spirit,” says David, “My wife and I were expecting revival and wondering how this would happen. We never realised it would come in electronic form, defeating the prince of the air. The Lord God of Israel is defeating him in Sri Lanka because many families are now watching GOD TV and no longer watching secular TV.”
God is doing something special in Sri Lanka. This is a country with a population of 80 million people that need to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ, so please pray for David and his team in Colombo, that Sri Lanka will see a mighty outpouring of the Holy Spirit and throughout the world as we continue to broadcast GOD TV across this beautiful country.
