A pastor from Massachusetts takes his ministry on the road as he ministers to the homeless in 50 cities for 300 days. He does this by traveling in his jeep and visiting communities he passes by.
On June 5, 2022, Pastor Leighton O’Connor departed his hometown and set on a journey ordained by God. He will travel throughout the United States, Canada, Alaska, and going up to the Arctic Circle.

The 59-year-old minister will bring relief aids, Bibles, hygiene kits, and pairs of socks for the homeless. He shared, “And there are also those unexpected stops. Although I do have every stop mapped out, I remain open to divine opportunities; there are times when I feel God wants me to just stop at a store, load the Jeep up with supplies, and give them to the homeless in a particular community.”
Pastor Leighton always had a heart for the homeless. He even founded the Mission for Hope in 2018 “to provide care for people experiencing homelessness and make people aware of the severe homelessness crisis which exists across the United States.”
The Mission for Hope is strongly tied to his 30,000-mile journey for 300 days.

Pastor Jared Myrick, a missionary associate, commends Pastor Leighton’s heart and devotion to the lost. He said, “I could recognize right away his heart for the homeless. I could tell he really cared.”
He added, “He just has a servant’s heart. And these people can be hard to love apart from a call from God — they smell bad, cuss you out, all sorts of things — but to see him, how he handled things, his patience . . . it was just awesome to see how God is using him.”
Leighton shared, “Someone has to plant the seed of the gospel in people’s lives. I may never see the fruits of my efforts, but in time, someone will.”
