After finding Jesus, actress Nicole Abisinio embarked on a journey to expose evil; more specifically abuse and human trafficking. Now she’s doing it through her new film, “The Advocate.”
‘The Advocate’ Project
According to Faithwire, Nicole wasn’t a believer in Christ when the idea of exposing human trafficking and child abuse came to her in “2006 or 2007.” But during that time, projects tackling topics like those weren’t welcomed. In fact, the actress recalled how “they were often blocked.”

“It’s an amazing project about a child protective agent who has supernatural gifts to be able to get ahead of the bad guys, get ahead of the predators,” she told Faithwire in an interview.
Later, when she met Jesus, the Holy Spirit prompted her to revisit the project again.
At that point, Nicole “felt like people were hungry for the truth.” She said, “I felt that they wanted projects that really mattered.”
Exposing Evil
Indeed, God has opened doors for Nicole’s film to be made possible. Today, her new show, “The Advocate,” is streaming on Pure Flix. Nicole is the director and, simultaneously, the lead role, Amber, in the film. She hopes the film will educate everyone about the “horrific crimes impacting children today.” And more importantly, she “hopes viewers and fans will think deeper about the importance and power of spiritual gifts.”
Further, the actress remarked that “true events” inspired the creation of “The Advocate.” Apparently, she grew up aware of such evil works because her mother worked as a detective. Hence, she watched her mom caring for the “vulnerable” throughout her childhood.
“She was a child abuse investigator, then she was a [private investigator]. … She ended up bounty hunting and worked in law enforcement,” Nicole narrated.
She also shared how her father tried to take her mom’s life when she was pregnant with Nicole. Then at nine years old, she helped her best friend escape abuse.
“I feel like the enemy had robbed me of so many years of understanding where God was and all of that,” she said. “And how much he loved me, and how much healing he could do. And that he was actually using that to give me a voice to be able to help so many now.”
Today, Nicole’s mission is to expose such evils in the world using the platform God has given her.
