Worship Leader Receives Golden Ticket To Hollywood From American Idol Judges

A worship leader received the golden ticket to Hollywood from the American Idol judges with his astounding performance.

Warren Peay is a worship leader from Bamberg, South Carolina and he has always been compared to singer-songwriter Chris Stapleton more times than he can count because of his physique and his voice. He wanted to step into American Idol to make a name on his own with his God-given talent.

The 23-year-old appliance repair technician sang “To The Table” by Zach Williams during the talent show’s audition. It is a Gospel song released seven years ago about surrendering our lives to our Savior Jesus Christ.

Golden Ticket to Hollywood

With his powerful voice, he stunned judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie. They all gave him a standing ovation after his performance.

“We heard all we need to hear. Warren, I want to make this very brief, that is heading down the top 10 roars that I have ever heard in my whole life. I’m telling you that he is strong and he is top 10. Good Lord,” Lionel commented.

Warren took to his Instagram account to celebrate this victory and give God the glory.

“What an incredible experience! Tonight I performed for the Idol judges and got the golden ticket to Hollywood! Praise God for this amazing opportunity, and a huge shoutout and thank you to everyone who has supported me in starting this journey. Be Blessed,” he wrote in a post alongside his photo with the golden ticket.

All three judges gave him a resounding yes and he is bound to perform in Hollywood in the next phase of the contest.

Elijah McCormick survived a terrifying car accident to fulfill a dream and was able to sing about God on American Idol.

On June 8, 2019, just hours after his High School graduation, Elijah was in a horrific accident that almost took his life. After dropping off his friend, he was in a crash where his car went up in flames. He had to be airlifted to the hospital.

The aspiring singer from Raeford, North Carolina, flatlined nine times after the accident. He spent 79 days in the hospital and went through 10 surgeries, including open heart surgery. It seemed like a miracle that he was able to survive. The young boy also had to relearn how to walk and talk again.

Today, almost four years after the accident, he stepped on the stage of American Idol and fulfill his a dream to honor God.

“I’m just thankful to be here honestly. Thankful for the guardian angels that were around me that day… I was not supposed to be here so I have to fulfill my purpose,” he said during an interview prior to his auditions.

The 21-year-old Ophthalmologist Technician sang “God Bless The Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts in front of the judges. Lionel Richie teared up as he was listening to Elijah singing. After his touching performance, they gave him a standing ovation.

“God brought you back nine times for you to do something amazing. I’m so glad you’re here with us. That was just one of the moments in my life I will never forget,” Lionel said to him.

Judge Katy Perry also acknowledged how God led Elijah to this moment,

“You sang ‘God bless the broken road that led me back to You.’ He blessed it,” Katy commented. “You have to relearn how to walk and talk. Elijah, do you understand this is the beginning of your story?”

He also revealed that he was scheduled to audition for the show back in 2019 but was unable to do so because of his accident.

“Your son, when he opens his mouth, it is divine,” Lionel said to Elijah’s mom. “God brought him back for a reason, there is a purpose in [his] life and it starts right on that oval. I know you went through absolute torture but God blessed you and your family and that golden child right there.”

Popular Christian artist Lauren Daigle surprised a young Christian contestant during her audition at American Idol.

The 20-year-old Megan Danielle grew up close to her grandfather Chuck, he was the most important person to her. It is her grandfather who always urged her to use her singing talent to glorify God. However, a year ago, her grandfather passed away. It was then that she decided to use her talent for the Lord and became a Christian singer.

“There was one show I had one night, and my papa was there, and he pulled me to the side and said, ‘what are you doing baby? This isn’t what you’re supposed to be doing.’ He looked me dead in the eye and said, ‘how can you sing for God and sing for this?’ And then I finally decided to totally switch to Christian music,” Megan recalled.

On this season of American Idol, the young singer who works as a waitress wanted to bring her faith to the entertainment industry. During her auditions for the singing contest, she sang “You Say” by Lauren Daigle. What she didn’t know is that a great surprise awaits her.

The well-known Christian singer came to the studio to witness her performance. While she was singing the chorus of the song, Lauren entered the room and sang with Megan. Everyone was surprised and amazed by their beautiful duet. The young artist gave thanks to the Lord for the surreal moment.

“Thank you, I love you. I feel like this is not even happening. I’d like to thank You, God,” Megan said.

While pop artist Katy Perry commented on Megan’s performance, Lauren learned that her grandfather’s name was Chuck. It was like a divine appointment as Lauren’s grandfather’s name was also Chuck.

“Well, you know God has a sense of humor every once in a while,” Katy, who is a pastor’s daughter, replied.

The aspiring Christian singer received positive feedback from all the judges and went through the next round.

American Idol Runner-Up Willie Spence Passes Away Hours After Posting Praise Video

American Idol’s Season 19 Runner-up Willie Spence died last Tuesday in a car accident. Hours before his sudden death, the singer posted his last performance on his Instagram page. He sang the praise song with a written caption of the title’s song.

“Lord, you are my hiding place,” he wrote in his caption. The 23-year-old singer sang Michael Ledner’s hymn, “You are my hiding place.”

The lyrics portray trust in God as He becomes the refuge and shelter. “You are my hiding place / You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance whenever I am afraid / I will trust in You / I will trust in You / Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of the Lord.”

According to news outlets, Willie’s car went off the road and crashed into the back of a trailer. Police pronounced him dead on the spot.

Many celebrities paid tribute to the rising star. The TV series, American Idol, honored Willie by remembering him on the day he was discovered by the world. They shared, “We are devastated about the passing of our beloved American Idol family member Willie Spence. He was a true talent who lit up every room he entered and will be deeply missed. We send our condolences to his loved ones.”

Lionel Richie, one of the show’s judges, also posted a touching message for Willie. “Your light will always shine in this world,” he said. During the audition epsiode, Richie gave Willie an immediate standing ovation. “We were so blessed to get a chance to see you shine. My thoughts and prayers are with Willie’s family. Rest well, my friend.”

Willie’s last song may allude to his last hours on earth. Indeed, God is his hiding place today, and we know that he is already singing songs of deliverance before heaven’s throne.

Gospel singer Tobias Hill will be going to Hollywood with his fantastic performance on the American Idol audition.

Tobias, also known as “Prince Tch,” is the music director of Celebration Church Franklin and a native of North Carolina. He performed Stevie Wonder’s hit “Knocks Me Off My Feet” while playing the piano at the American Idol audition. The choir teacher at Southampton Middle School in Virginia received a “yes” from all the judges.

“I think you’re going to have to get a sub. It’s time to become the student once again,” Katy Perry, a pastor’s daughter, commented.

Tobias has always been into music at a very early age because of his musically inclined family. His parents and grandparents taught him a lot about music, particularly his grandfather James Albert Long Sr., and from there, he grew and learned a lot more about it.

The 26-year-old musician recently received a master’s degree in marketing from Liberty University. He has a large following on social media because of his music. His Instagram account where he is posting about his music has over 21,000 followers.

He recently posted to glorified God as he was promoting his audition.

“GOD GETS ALL THE GLORY,” he wrote.

In his most recent post, he expressed how excited he is to be a part of the Hollywood week.

“This win… is for US!!! I could not be more excited to begin this adventure with y’all,” he wrote alongside the picture of him holding the golden ticket.

Liberty University Student Glorifies God As He Impressed American Idol Judges

A Liberty University student glorified God after he impressed American Idol judges with his deep baritone voice.

Luke Taylor, a commercial music major at Liberty University, received a phone call from the singing competition asking him to audition for the 20th season of the show.

“Most people have to audition,” Taylor said in a statement shared by the university. “Having such a big corporation reach out to me without me saying anything is very humbling, honestly. I feel like a lot of people would think it would really boost my ego, but knowing that I’m just some kid from the middle of nowhere, and I’m having this awesome opportunity, shows how good God really is.”

The 20-year-old is known on the evangelical university with his deep baritone voice. He sings with the Liberty School of Music Chamber Singers and the school’s a cappella group, Shine.

Luke Taylor

During his audition in American Idol, he sang the “Ring Of Fire” by Johnny Cash. Taylor’s motivation to join the competition is to glorify God and to let His light be shown.

“I want people to be excited about this show,” he said. “Whether or not it is to see me, it’s not about me. It is for the glory of God. Getting to see that and getting to show that on that show is really awesome, and I hope people get to see that light.”

The sophomore student impressed the judges with his deep voice and even encouraged him to be a voice actor. Luke Bryan interrupted his performance and asked him to sing “Frosty The Snowman,” and they were all stunned.

However, pop singer Katy Perry voted no due to her concerns that he wasn’t going to make it through the competition. Thankfully, Luke’s and Lionel Richie’s votes sent him to Hollywood for the next round of competition.

Gospel Singer Moves Legendary Lionel Richie To Tears

A “100% Gospel singer” moves the music legend, Lionel Richie, to tears with his Gospel song performance on American Idol.

Dontrell Briggs from Maxton, North Carolina delivered a soulful Gospel song during the American Idol audition. He sang Tasha Cobbs’ “For Your Glory” as a tribute to his late godmother, Betty Morrison, who died in April last year.

“She played a very big part in my life — not a day that I could not call her and she wouldn’t be right there for me,” Dontrell said in an interview for American Idol.

Betty died of terminal lung disease at the age of 59. Despite having a health issue, she “always kept going” and that inspired the 26-year-old singer to reach for his dream.

“If I get that golden ticket, she is going to be rejoicing with the angels,” he told the judges.

Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie, one of America’s music legends, was moved to tears with his performance. He felt the Lord’s presence with his rendition of the song.

“Some people can come in and just sing, and then some people come in and just let God come through them… I felt every breath of that performance.” Lionel said.

However, the other judges were not that impressed with his performance. They noted that his vibrato went overboard. Luke Bryan asked him what percentage of him is a Gospel singer, Dontrell boldly answered that he is a 100% Gospel singer.

He then sang another song that wowed Luke and finally gave him a “yes” vote after Katy Perry gave him a “no” vote.

“Yes, you’re going to Hollywood… I just got chills all over that one,” Luke said.

Lionel was heard praising God in the background, “Hallelujah!”

Miss America 2016 Betty Maxwell showcased her talent on the Season 20 of American Idol. She showed not only her talent but also her faith as she sang Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel.”

Betty won the Miss America title in 2016, representing Miss Georgia. When she joined the beauty pageant, she never really thought she would win.

“I had a lot of mishaps during the competition,” she said. “I had a sinus infection that really inhibited my singing. I was singing classic opera as my talent.”

Today, the 27-year-old is back in the limelight, but with a different goal—to become Miss American Idol. She has loved singing since she was 3-years-old. And now she’s off to show that passion to the world.

Sings Faith-Filled Song

Betty brought her Miss America crown with her during the audition. She felt at ease on stage when judge Katy Perry jokingly tried to steal her crown several times.

Soon, she dived into her performance with American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This.” She gave a stunning performance. However, it did not convince judges Katy, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. Then they asked her to sing a country song. That’s when she sang another song. And this time, she boldly sang a faith-filled song declaring Jesus’ Name. Betty sang American Idol alum Carrie Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel” powerfully.

Finally, her performance impressed the three judges that they all gave her a “Yes” and sent her straight to the finals in Hollywood.

One of the contestants who first shared his talent and story is Tyler Nicholas Allen, a worship leader, and preacher from Alabama. During his audition on American Idol, the pop idol Katy Perry was crying as he shared his story and during his soulful performance.

Tyler recently lost his sister Ariel Jasper and his 1-year-old nephew Noah Josiah Brown in a tragic accident. A few months ago, Ariel and her son Noah were struck by an 18-wheeler truck and died on the spot. It was a difficult season for their family and Tyler became the rock to keep his family strong.

Music has been his way of comfort and expressing his grief. During his audition on American Idol, he is dedicating his performance to his nephew. He sang Whitney Houston’s “I Believe In You And Me,” a song he used to sing to Noah to put him to sleep.

With his wonderful, unique, and soulful voice, he moved and impressed the judges. The 24-year-old preacher made it through the first round of the singing contest.

‘American Idol 2020’ Contestant Returns To Entertain With Gospel Song “Say Yes” Performance

A contestant from “American Idol” 2020 returns to the show to perform the Gospel song “Say Yes,” for another chance for the Top 10 spot.

The 17-year-old Olivia Ximines from Menefee, California started singing in her local church. She first auditioned for “American Idol” during season 18 in 2020 with a Tori Kelly song. Her audition was a remarkable one as she showed up in the audition room with her entire dance team from Orange Vista High School.

All three judges were impressed by her performance and gave her three yeses, and sent her to the next round. As the season continued, her talent kept her in the contest until the Top 20. However, when they were about to perform on the big stage for the finals, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, suspending the show’s regular program.

“American Idol” had to continue the contest by having all the Top 20 contenders perform remotely in their homes. But this year, Olivia and the other 9 contestants from season 18 were granted another chance for the “idol” title and a performance on the big stage with the live band.

The episode which aired on April 19 featured 10 comeback performers to compete for a spot in season 19’s top 10. Only one of the returnees will have the chance to compete for the finals. The special show also featured guest performers including the two Grammy Awardee Lauren Daigle.

Olivia performed an energetic and powerful performance of the Gospel song “Say Yes” by Michelle Williams featuring Kelly Rowland and Beyonce released in 2014. At the end of her performance, she received a standing ovation from the judges for her wonderful voice and dance moves.

The young aspiring singer took to Instagram to glorify God for the successful performance.

“God is Good, and I mean that with every bone in my body,” she wrote. “I truly believe this video portrays the meaning of having faith and that miracle do happen.”

When Jesus says yes, nobody can say no! Voting for the best performer among the returnees is still ongoing! Olivia hopes to be one of the finalists for “American Idol” Season 19.
