Lauren Daigle & Avril Lavigne Worship God Before Thousands At ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Finale

On November 26th, Lauren Daigle and Avril Lavigne worshipped God before thousands during the finale of ABC’s popular TV series ‘Dancing with the Stars’.

Both singers, who are believers, gave heartfelt renditions of their latest songs. Lauren with “You Say” and Avril with “Head Above Water”.

Avril’s newest song reveals how God rescued her during her battle with Lyme disease. It was the very first song she wrote for God. Moreover, days before she announced on her Instagram page that she will be guesting on ABC, she posted a photo of herself with Philippians 4:13 as a caption.

On the other hand, Lauren’s song shares about God’s unconditional love for her when at times she struggled to see her worth. She performed at the end of the show just before the season 27 winners of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ were announced.

On her Instagram page, Lauren shared how excited she was to sing in the show. “Hey everybody, it’s Lauren Daigle. I’m here at Dancing with the Stars. Tonight’s the finale, I’m singing ‘You Say.’ I can’t wait to see all of you. Best wishes to all the finalists,” she said.

Fans greatly commended Lauren for boldly worshipping the Lord on a commercial TV show. She has been so confident about bringing the presence of God down wherever she goes, demonstrating His love especially to unbelievers.

An Instagram user, “lifeisnotsupposetohurt” applauded Lauren, showing the kind of support she has been getting from fellow believers: “I am so proud of her. If Christians everywhere are not up on their feet praising and worshipping His name and praying for her, I don’t know what you’re doing? She is on these shows that don’t talk about God, singing about God to the masses! Preach it @lauren_daigle . We are behind you.”

While Avril is going to release her new album with the same name in February, Lauren is about to embark on her Christmas tour. It’s truly encouraging to see both Christian singers using their talents to influence people so that a much wider audience might know that God is a great and loving Savior. What a blessing! To God be the glory.

Dancing With The Stars Season Finale

Monday night, Dancing with the stars celebrated its season finale with crowning this season’s winners and live performances by Avril Lavigne, Lauren Daigle, and Dan and Shay.
While all of the artists consistently top the charts, they all have one thing in common, and that is their faith in Jesus.

All three artists shined bright in the lights and on camera, and owned the night along with the contestants who performed to Avril Lavigne’s faith-based hit, “Head Above Water”, Daigle’s “You Say” and Dan and Shay’s “Speechless”.

While America was watching to see which contestants were to be crowned the winners of this season’s DWTS they got a little more than they were probably expecting: the sound of worship being lifted up in a magnificent way, through song and worship. Daigle and Lavigne both performed songs referring to their faith in Jesus and trusting in Him.

Dan and Shay

Dan and Shay are an American Country duo with an amazing tracklist and a strong faith in Jesus. While Dan and Shay’s song, “Speechless”, doesn’t fit into the category of a worship song, they are believers and have been featured on The Shack motion picture soundtrack with artists such as Hillsong United, Switchfoot, Lauren Daigle, Franchesca Battistelli, and Skillet.

Avril Lavigne is a Canadian rocker with a fairly new perspective on life. Avril is a survivor of Lyme’s Disease and now an advocate for patients and people with the illness. Lavigne released her new hit single after a 5-year hiatus, and a hard year-long battle with the disease that could have taken her life. During her struggle, she put her trust in Jesus and wrote songs about her struggle, her faith, and life. While there is only speculation, many fans are expecting new music from the Canadian rocker by early to mid-2019.

Avril Lavigne’s First ‘Head Above Water’ Performance Live On National Television

Recently, Avril Lavigne was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Along with the song’s powerful lyrics, she sang such a worshipful performance bring the presence of God to national television in America. Her performance in this video gives us goosebumps!

Everyone was blown away when Avril launched her newest album after five long years of break. Far from the “Pop Punk Princess” she used to be known as, a new, more spiritual Avril has dethroned the old image. Her new single, “Head Above Water” has deeply Christian undertones.

Avril received various reactions from her fans. Some wanted the old Avril back, and some were encouraging of her new sound.

One fan commented on the ‘Head Above Water’ official music video on YouTube:

“AVRIL! I WANT YOU TO READ THIS MESSAGE! PLEASE! BRING BACK YOUR OLD STYLE PLEASE! THE NEW MUSIC HERE IN 2017-2018 IS DEAD! WE NEeD YOU TO SAVE OUR EARS ???? ???? I LOVE YOU AVRIL! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU.”

Another fan wrote, showing her undying support for Avril’s transformation:

Avril sure is helping a lot of people get through their darkest times by pointing them to God. She may have changed, but we think it’s for the Glory of God. We pray she continues to seek after God.

Avril Lavigne’s New Song and Video, “Head Above Water” is Anointed by the Holy Spirit

Anointed by the Holy Spirit

Avril Lavigne recently told her fans how she was inspired in writing her new release, “Head Above Water.” She wrote about suffering from Lyme Disease, “One night, I thought I was dying, and I had accepted that I was going to die. My mom laid with me in bed and held me. I felt like I was drowning. Under my breath, I prayed, ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’ In that moment, the songwriting of this album began. It was like I tapped into something. It was a very spiritual experience. Lyrics flooded through me from that point on.”

Her worship song will spiritually move you. And it is raising awareness about Lyme Disease through the Avril Lavigne Foundation. A charitable T-Shirt campaign is raising funds for those suffering from the disease but can’t afford treatments.

Head Above Water Video

The music video starts out with the sight and sound of waves lapping on a beach. She is then seen wearing a flowing white dress while holding a lantern. The dress is a reminder of purity (Isaiah 1:18) while the lantern is the Word of God (Psalm 119:105). This may also correlate with the Proverbs 31 Woman, especially verse 8, saying, “…and her lamp does not go out at night.”

She begins singing, “I’ve got to keep the calm before the storm / I don’t want less / I don’t want more / Must bar the windows and the doors / To keep me safe, to keep me warm.” She is seen walking toward the ocean holding the lamp. Both arms are outstretched looking like the forming of a cross. Her dress of purity is flowing with the wind. She looks like she is forming a cross.

When singing, “My life is what I’m fighting for,” a dove is flying over her. This is symbolizing the wonderful Holy Spirit. And then we see a beautiful cross necklace (Matthew 3:16).

She thing sings, “Can’t part the sea / Can’t reach the shore / And my voice becomes the driving force / I won’t let this pull me overboard.” She is dancing while her dress is floating on the wind, having an audience of One. We see the cross necklace again as she at first has arms out forming a cross. But then she lifts her hands in worship.

Calling on Her Creator

The chorus is calling out to her Creator being a personal prayer. She sings, “God keep my head above water / Don’t let me drown / It gets harder / I’ll meet you there at the altar / As I fall down to my knees / Don’t let me drown / Don’t let me drown.” 

Then she calls on God. “So pull me up from down below / Cuz’ I’m underneath the undertow.” We see steam billowing out of the earth, which may be a reminder of Hell. But continuing singing, “Come dry me off and hold me close / I need you now / I need you most.”

Avril begins running up a hill, returning to the chorus before plunging in the water below. “God, keep my head above water / Don’t let me drown, it gets harder / I’ll meet you there at the altar / As I fall down to my knees.”

Avril Lavigne—From “What The Hell” To “God, Keep My Head Above Water” Worship Song

Far from the Avril Lavigne we knew as the “Pop Punk Queen” and “Rock Star Singer”, she surprises everyone with her newest comeback song after five long years of break—a worship song.  Who would have thought that she would be this outspoken about her faith today?

Avril is a Canadian singer songwriter.  At a young age she gained prominence with her albums and has sold more than 50 million singles worldwide.  She is well-known in the secular world and has written many songs, but not even one of her earlier songs ever talked about God.  This is why everyone is blown away with her newly released album.

Avril’s new song “Head Above Water” was inspired by what she has gone through, while suffering from Lyme Disease.  The song talks about how she found help from God when she thought she was at the end of her life.

In an interview with Elite Daily she said, “Under my breath, I prayed ‘God, please help to keep my head above the water.’ At that moment, the songwriting of this album began. It was like I tapped into something. It was a very spiritual experience. Lyrics flooded through me from that point on.”

We are so glad to see a legendary celebrity, who in their time of struggle, decided to find help in God instead of drugs or suicide.  She is an example to so many.  She’ll influence millions of people in the world to turn to God when they feel like they are drowning in life’s troubles.

I believe that Avril’s outspokenness about her faith can change the world for the glory of God.
