Becoming a mom might have been your dream ever since you remembered. Maybe you yearned for years to raise babies. Or maybe you had children a little sooner than anticipated. Becoming a mom comes with difficulty, regardless of how you prepared for it. You’re learning how to love and care for a new baby, but more than that, this new person you’ve become.
Entering into motherhood with grace
There is grace for you and this season. God waste’s nothing, and every tear of struggle that you shed is held. All of the ways that you are learning to mother God sees and celebrates with you. Holy Spirit is with you. He sees your transition and ways your heart and relationships have changed. He sees the new body you have, the messy kitchen, and tired heart.
You are doing a great job
Maybe you are entering into motherhood after carrying your baby for 9 months. Or maybe you’ve been through a long journey of adoption. However you’ve arrived at this new season of life, you’ve done a great job. Faithfully, you have shown up, sacrificed your time, body, finances, and feelings to hold new life in your arms. Well done, mama! This is worth celebrating and holding space in your heart for. Some days you may feel like you’re on top of the world, handling diaper changes and running your household like a pro. Others you may want to crawl back into bed and hand your little one off to your husband. Both of these circumstances are beautiful to the Father. This is not the time to “have it all together” but this is a time to receive love, nurturing, and healing from your community and God. Let others support you and speak up to share what your heart needs. Is it words of edification? Ask for encouragement! Is it a tidied home? Recruit friends for help.
You are not alone.
