Recently, Courtney shared their family’s bedtime routine. The video received much support and positive comments from her followers on Instagram, but initially, Courtney thought it was corny.
“I almost didn’t post this because I know people will roll their eyes at us. People will leave comments. People may think we are corny as all get out. But then I thought, what if this inspires or helps someone? What if this gives some parents the idea of bedtime being the BEST part of their day instead of a dreaded part? What if the bedtime routine was a time to reset as a family and focus all our hearts on the God who gave us the day?” Courtney wrote in her post.

Slovenski Family’s Bedtime Routine
Their family’s bedtime routines start with Courtney calling the kids’ attention. It seems like they’ve been waiting for it, and it can be seen in the video that they’re too excited about it, with Sawyer and Daisy screaming and running around saying, “It’s bedtime!”
This isn’t the usual routine you see online because theirs includes… a chicken dance! Who would have thought, right? And with a hokey pokey, too!
After the silly songs and dances, it is followed by the singing of worship songs led by her husband, Steve. Then prayer time and the reading of different Bible stories.
“Thank You, God, for the things you made,” Sawyer prayed, while Daisy thanked Him “for the rainbows.”
“Bedtime is almost always our favorite part of the day. A time to slow down and focus all of our hearts on the things that matter,” Courtney wrote.
