Christian artist Zach Williams collaborated with the music legend Dolly Parton to release a number one Christian hit song.
There Was Jesus
Recently, Zach Williams recorded a duet of the song “There Was Jesus” with the legendary artist Dolly Parton. The song is about hope in hard times and how Jesus is in every single moment. The song has become a huge hit and even landed the number one spot on the Billboard’s Christian Adult Contemporary chart.

For the last week since September 6, the song grabbed the top spot from the song “Together” by For King And Country. “Together” has been the number one for four weeks until “There Was Jesus” made it to the top.
“Having a No. 1 record at any time is a great thing, but having a No. 1 faith-based record during these crazy times is even greater. I feel humbled and blessed to be part of this wonderful song with Zach Williams. It does my heart good to know that we have touched the lives of so many people,” Dolly said in an interview.

The powerful song lyrics remind us how Jesus is always there with us wherever we go.
“There was Jesus on the mountains, in the valleys, there was Jesus in the shadows off the alleys. There was Jesus in the fire, in the flood, there was Jesus always is and always was. No, I never walk alone. Never walk alone, You’re always there,” Zach wrote on the song’s lyrics.
The song was written in October last year by Casey Beathard and Jonathan Smith in collaboration with Zach. During these troubled times, this song speaks to everyone’s hope and assurance that Jesus is always with us. Even during these times when people are uncertain how the future unfolds, Jesus is with us.
