A man who was blind for eight years got his eyesight back as he came up out of the water during baptism.
Grace Apostolic Church in Clawson, Michigan, witnessed a miracle that was unexpected. The church hosted water baptisms for people wanting to publicly proclaim their faith.
1 Peter 3:231 says, “And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”
It is a parallel example of the resurrection of Christ. Getting immersed in water symbolizes the person’s death to self. And as they come out of the water, it portrays the person’s new life in Christ.
Blind for Eight Years
James had been legally blind for eight years because of chemical damage to his eyes.
He had decided to make his public declaration of faith, but wasn’t expecting what happened that day.
But then, God showed up and restored his eyesight as he came up out of the water.
Thankfully, the church captured the powerful moment.
In the video clip below, James is clearly surprised after coming up out of the water!

And to confirm his eyesight, he began pointing at things and asking for confirmation that what he was seeing was true.
James’ testimony only shows that baptism is a powerful and miracles still happen today!
User rissadoesart commented, “My God is still is still healing and working miracles. He’s the same yesterday, today and forever! Bless His Holy name!”
