“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” (2 Timothy 1:7) Fear is not of God but of the devil to enslave the people of God. Fear will torment you, paralyzed you, and will also make you not realize your God’s given potentials inside of you. God has not given us the spirit of fear because fear is capable of denying us of our heritage in Christ Jesus. Time to access our boldness in faith!
And Moses said unto the people, “Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them again no more forever.” (Exodus 14:13)
Boldness: Fear Not
The first thing Moses said to them was, fear not because fear couldn’t make them see the future ahead of them. Moses’ boldness made it possible for him to work with God and led the people of Israel from Egypt to the wilderness. Joshua took over from Moses, and because of his boldness, he was able to lead the people of Israel to the promised land. Even though you have Faith and willing to obey God but without boldness, you will not exercise your Faith in many situations. Remember what James said in chapter 2:20, “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?”
Give Up Your Timid Spirit
For any Christian who is not bold to preach the gospel of Christ or deliver a specific message from the Lord, such timidity attitudes could prompt the question of whether such Christians have received the Holy Ghost? Paul asked some disciples from Ephesus the same question in Acts 19:2, “He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.” Why would Paul ask such a question? Probably he could see or feel they are too timid and not on fire as they ought to be. He later laid hands on them, and Holy Ghost came upon them and spoke in tongues and prophesied (see Acts 19:6).
The Apostles were able to preach the Gospel of Christ because they were bold after receiving the Holy Ghost, who is the power and the engine of the Church (see Acts 1:8). Even in persecution, they never stopped preaching. Apostle Paul did major of his preaching in prison. He said in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9, “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.” He also mentioned in 2 Timothy 2:3-4, “Thou, therefore, endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.”
He Is With You
God said to Jeremiah in Chapter 1:19, “And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.”
God also said to Ezekiel in chapter 3:8-9, “Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”
Exactly what God said to the prophets is what He is also saying to you right now as you are reading this article.
If not for the Faith, obedience, and boldness of the prophets and the apostles in Christ Jesus, we will not have Bible today.
Boldness: Questions
- What would you do for the Church of God now that you are still here?
- Do you know how much time you still have to stay here?
- What would you be remembered for?
- Are you serving the Lord or yourself?
To have Faith in God, be obedient to God, and be bold in God is all about choice. What is your choice?
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.
