Before meeting Jesus, Josh felt lost. He was raised in a church but had only the idea of Christianity and never actually met Jesus. Thus, he sought his worth in friends and continuously jumped from one friend group to another. He searched for fulfillment in all kinds of things. But one day, during college, Jesus straight-up appeared to him.
Encounter With God
“He told me that I have been found…” Josh recalled, stressing how Jesus gracefully welcomed him regardless of what he’d done. Since then, his life changed.
“So, from there, I feel like I got in touch with what I was created for… to behold Him,” he said.
Furthermore, Josh recounted how many times he had beaten himself up while sitting in worship. But that’s when he felt the Holy Spirit start to move.
“I feel like a fish in water. That was His Presence. I was like ‘whatever this is, whatever is happening right now, this resonates more than anything I’ve ever felt or experienced’ And it changed me. It took me from a place of not knowing who I was to being able to speak identity and life into other people,” he said.
Further, he continued, “Jesus’ Presence is always with us and that confidence came from when He revealed Himself to me.”
Christianity: A Redeemed Life
For Josh, being able to lead people into God’s Presence has been one of the biggest honors he could have ever dreamed of. He never imagined that he would be so in love with Jesus like he is now.
Today, Josh loves Jesus more than anything in this world and has come to understand Christianity.
“I’m not lost. I’m not looking for my identity in people around me anymore. I don’t need constant affirmation anymore from the people around me to feel confident. Because what He’s given me, when no one’s looking, the peace that I found in the unseen—that is something what we’re all hungry for!” he said. “That is what the world needs.”
“Having Jesus as a Friend and knowing that He’s got my back, that is greater than anything. That’s how Jesus has changed my life.”
