The 5-year-old Tru Wende Beare has become an inspiration to millions who have followed her story. In January 2016, the adorable baby girl was born 14-week early, weighing just one pound. For months, she stayed in the hospital fighting for her life right from the minute she was born.
Tru’s mom, Chantal, was able to hold her in her arms for the first time 11 days after her birth. The loving mom carefully held her delicate daughter with tears in her eyes. Despite all the many health complications Tru experienced, Chantal fought by her daughter’s side.
Fighting for life
Bob and Chantal also saw how willing Tru was to fight for her life despite being in an incubator to help her stay alive. On day 54, Bob was able to hold his daughter for the first time and it was a very emotional moment.
Tru battled against many complications along the way. From the beginning, she showed everyone how a fighter she was. On her 71st day, she showed signs of improvement and finally came out of the incubator.
On day 90, the brave little warrior switched to low-flow oxygen. After four long months in the hospital, Tru was finally able to go home. Today she is a happy and healthy big sister to her 3-year-old sister. Tru is turning five this month and she’s living the life just like any other kid does.
