A woman who had been going through chemo treatments because of breast cancer received a heartwarming surprise from her wonderful neighbors on her last day of treatment.
Amid the pandemic crisis the world is facing, Kedral “Keke” Thornton had been battling breast cancer. Truly, not an ideal situation for people with pre-existing medical conditions like hers. But nonetheless, Keke considers herself to be blessed. And that is partially because of her kind-hearted neighbors.

On April 14, Keke left home for her final round of chemotherapy treatment. And to her surprise, when she came out, she stumbled upon something she definitely was not expecting.

The mother from Georgia was greeted with “a line of neighbors waiting for her outside, ready to cheer her on.”

While adhering to social distancing and wearing masks, Keke’s neighbors held up balloons and celebratory signs just for her. Ernest Ross, one of her neighbor captured the beautiful moment live via Facebook.
“It is a different time but we found a way to support our friend,” he said in the video while going live on Facebook. “So we are all excited,” he added.

Pink Out Fundraiser
Apparently, Keke planned a fundraiser called Pink Out. Despite her own condition, she was selflessly trying to help out others too. She wanted to “support organizations that helped breast cancer patients with food, paying their medical bills, and supplies” according to Shareably.
Moreover, some of Keke’s neighbors went the extra mile to honor the selfless fundraiser and wore pink to her home. Their show of support for also for other patients suffering from the same illness.

Battling breast cancer in the middle of COVID-19 pandemic ain’t easy. It’s been challenging for both Keke and her family. However, because of what their community did, they felt great joy.
“My wife’s chemo send-off was a beautiful sight with all the bad stuff going on in the world,” James, Keke’s husband told WSB-TV.

Keke’s fight isn’t over yet. But knowing that she has her family and the entire community behind her back will feel a little bit easier with her. The beautiful woman will definitely not go through it alone.

No one is exempt from life’s challenges. But God gives us the strength to overcome every obstacle. For Keke’s case, He sent wonderful people to remind her that she’s not alone in this battle. God is amazing!
