Connecting children to the Lord is so important and one way to do that is through literature.
Meet Pam Spinosi, Children’s Author
Pam Spinosi is empowering parents and children to connect and grow in the Lord through her children’s books. Pam expressed her passion for children’s literature sharing,
“A man whose whole life was given to Jesus for missions once told me he was called to missions at the age of five! The purity and sensitivity of the hearts of little children are well-known. Jesus said, “I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 18:10 ESV). How easy it is for small children to connect to our loving Father. How close they are to Jesus. What a perfect time to introduce them to eternal truths.
I retain memories of being three years old and memorizing the books my mother would read to me. At that age, I developed a love for books. Reading to a child is so important. Sitting on a parent’s or caregiver’s lap, looking at pictures and hearing the words that go with them are comforting for a child. In that moment the child gets all the attention from the adult, and they enter an exciting world together. I feel passionate about writing for children between the ages of three and five. I love to equip people with words that help them bring a child into greater touch with the Lord and His truths.
A few years ago, I wrote a book about Heidi Baker for that age group called Mama Heidi Loves. A couple of years after its publication, I met a Swiss woman who told me she read that book to her children, ages three and five. One of them decided he wanted to go to Mozambique; the other took it on himself to pray for Mama Heidi. That was the best news I could have received about my writing. It was just what I was aiming for. Let’s give little children the opportunity to know and love the living God.”
