Chris Quilala from Jesus Culture on Worship
Worship leader and a member of Jesus Culture, Chris Quilala talks about how worship is the main thing. Worship is a lifestyle, he says, not something we do just to go record an album.
Chris tells how when he finds himself discouraged, going to God through worship is what he uses to help get through challenging feelings.
The challenge for Christians is to remember that worship and thankfulness is a daily reality. Worship is something that we can use to set the tempo throughout the day. Chris exhorts us to use worship to stir ourselves up. Worship is a lifestyle, not something set aside for Sunday service.
7 Ways To Worship The Lord:
- Singing
- Dancing
- Giving Thanks
- Telling God Who He Is
- Remembering His Testimonies
- Serving Him
- Giving To The Lord
Do you worship the Lord a little differently than other people? How have you found pleasure in worshiping Jesus?
“Jesus said to him, ‘Away from me, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'” (Matthew 4:10)
It’s fascinating how Jesus tells Satan to worship God and serve Him only. Jesus links service with worship. Worship is not limited to songs we sing, but also includes the actions of our lives. What does serving God mean to you? Do you experience joy in serving God? Is joy an indicator that you’re serving and worshiping Him?
Point of Reflection
What’s one way you could incorporate worship and or service to the Lord this week? If joy is an indicator for worship, where do you find joy in life? Perhaps there’s fresh revelation the Lord wants to impart to you today regarding worship?
May the Lord lead you into greater revelation and truth regarding what worship could look like for you. May the joy of the Lord truly be your strength!
