During the spike of cases of coronavirus in Brazil, the Body of Christ has taken a stand for the nation. Several Christian churches have collaborated to take turns praying in front of the hospitals. They all agreed to spend one hour for one week declaring blessings over the patients.
Christian churches in Brazil
Fernando Silva, the pastor of the Luz da Manha Pentecostal Assembly Church, initiated the event. He invited the church members to gather in front of hospitals that admit Covid-19 patients. It started with their church. And then they challenged another congregation to do the same.
“This is the most propitious time for the church to do its work,” Silva said. “This is the time for the church to show its role. Being a church within four walls is easy. Now is the time for the church to come out of its comfort zone and show the Brazilian nation that it has a great weight.”
On Wednesday, the prayer chain began. Silva and the participating members prayed from 10 pm to 11 pm. Then, the Church of the Alliance with Christ accepted the call and continued the prayer the next day.
They all finished the prayer and declaration of blessing even through the rain.
“We want to prophesy healing over them because I believe in the spiritual dimension and that God responds to our requests,” Silva explained.
“We are a country with a large percentage of Christians, and we need to unite in prayer, fasting, and consecration for Brazil. I believe in the power of God. And that he can do something supernatural with the Brazilian nation.”
He added, “I think many healings will come. We have the possibility to stop this deadly virus that is devastating in the Brazilian nation.”
Moreover, every participant carefully observed proper health protocols in submission to the authorities.
